A generative artwork exploring the hidden burdens carried by women living under social, cultural, and historical constraints. Inspired by the experiences of Iraqi women and informed by Sufi concepts of patience, remembrance, and endurance, the work transforms data into visual form, creating a meditation on resilience rather than victimhood.

Each figure represents a woman wearing the traditional Iraqi abaya. The dark, faceless silhouettes evoke anonymity and collective memory, symbolising countless women whose voices and stories often remain unheard. Yet they stand together with dignity, presence, and quiet strength.

Behind them, vibrant coloured squares form fragmented digital mosaics symbolising memories, emotions, dreams, and possibilities. The geometric repetition reflects both societal structures and the recurring cycles through which grief, hope, and resistance are carried across generations.

Combining algorithmic generation with human intention, the artwork creates a dialogue between data and emotion. Through repetition, variation, and abstraction, it invites viewers to reflect on how suffering may coexist with beauty, how silence can hold profound stories, and how communities preserve strength through shared experience.

Rather than depicting oppression directly, the work focuses on survival, solidarity, and the search for inner peace. It encourages viewers to look beyond anonymity and recognise the humanity, wisdom, and endurance that persist despite adversity.
